We take pride in our patient-centered care, commitment to innovation, and dedication to maintaining the highest surgical standards.Position Summary:The Sterile Processing Technician helps ASC maintain a high standard of care by giving physicians, nurses, access to the tools, instruments, devices, and personal protective equipment needed to deliver patient care and adhere to infection control and safety guidelines. A technician also inspects for signs of excessive wear and tear or damage on devices, equipment, and tools to reduce the risk of medical errors and minimize delays during medical procedures.For more information, please visit our webpage at milauskas-eye.comDuties and ResponsibilitiesExtensive knowledge of the best practices for infection control, hazardous waste disposal and emergency preparednessKeen attentiveness to detail to monitor working conditions, inspect equipment and oversee the decontamination processOrganizational skills to efficiently fulfill supply requestsFamiliarity with a wide range of surgical instruments, medical devices and equipmentDexterity to operate equipment used for decontamination and sterilizationAbility to remain stationary and upright during a shift and to move items that weigh up to 25 pounds.Experience using databases to look up infection control procedures as neededStrong oral and written communication skills to interact with members of the care team and keep accurate recordsMaintain proper inventory recordsFollows the hospital exposure control plans/blood-borne and airborne pathogensParticipates in department’s quality assurance/quality improvement programAll other duties as assignedNew hire training on all systems and office practicesTraining support and communication of all ASC informationProficient inall ASCoperationsQualificationsMinimum High School Diploma or equivalentOne to five years’ experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as doctor’s notesExcellent Customer ServiceSelf-StarterProfessional Leadership SkillsTravel to offices within network requiredPay Range $21.00 -$25.00 per hour (Based on Experience)#ESP2
