OverviewEdgewood Country Club is an 18-hole private member-owned club located in Pittsburgh, PA. The club was established in 1898 and is one of the three oldest clubs in western Pennsylvania. It is a founding member of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association. The 18-hole course is a Donald Ross design located just east of Pittsburgh off I-376. The club has 350+ golfing members (500+ total members) and supports over 23,000 rounds per year. In addition to the 6500 yards championship golf course there is a practice range and short game area. Golf activities include men, ladies and junior programs, and a caddie program. Monday golf outings provide a solid revenue stream for the club. Edgewood is considered one of Pittsburgh’s premier family country clubs and offers a first class clubhouse with fine and casual dining, grille, swimming, tennis and platform tennis facilities.Experience RequiredEssential ResponsibilitiesThis position will assist the Head Professional with all activities involved in running a successful golf operation. Duties will include tournament operations, individual and group instruction, assisting with a successful junior golf program and PGA Junior League team, merchandising, club repair, outing preparation, customer relations, and helping with daily shop and outside operations.This Assistant Golf Professional position is designed to be a 9 month position and will begin around March 1st and end around November 30th. Both the start date and finish date are flexible within reason. . If the candidate prefers to relocate for the winter months, we can set this up as a 7 month position if desired.The candidate should be personable, hard working, and a team player with solid computer skills and a strong attention to detail. Most importantly, the candidate must be committed to his/her career with future aspirations of obtaining a Head Golf Professional position. Any knowledge of Golf Genius Software and North Star POS Software is a plus but not required.BenefitsAdditional Benefits include individual health insurance after 90 days, PGA dues paid by the club, clothing allowance, limited continued education allowance, lunch while on duty, 3 weeks vacation pay, and the full use of the golf course and practice facility.After one year of employment, additional benefits will include life insurance, short term disability, and a 401K program with a 3% club match.
