Job Summary The duties of the Project Advisor include, but are not limited to: Providing academic support in a designated discipline with the goal of reducing student attrition and increase completion of required college courses; providing individual and group coaching in writing, math, and/or study skills; maintaining academic progress files on all tutored participants.As Project Advisor, position will serve as academic advisor to assigned program participants; administering and evaluating academic and needs survey assessments, creating and maintaining Individual Academic and Service Plans (IASP) on assigned participants; providing individual and group coaching in writing and study skill; attending professional development training; and other duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in postsecondary education, counseling, educational psychology, or a related field. Experience in working with a diverse adult population in a higher education setting. Minimum of one (1) year of tutoring experience in area of subject competency. Professional or personal experiences in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting SSS Eligible Students. Ability to effectively tutor Participants and track academic progress as indicated on their Academic Progress Plans. Preferred Qualifications Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties?
