Overview High School Writing Tutor at Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company. The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online tutors nationwide. You’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from home. Responsibilities Set your own hours and tutor remotely using the Live Learning Platform. Match with students best suited to your teaching style and expertise. Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features. Invoice for tutoring sessions; Varsity Tutors handles payments (pays workers up to twice per week). Provide high-quality 1-on-1 online tutoring and on-demand Instant Tutoring when available. Compensation and Benefits Base contract rates start at $18/hour and can increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40/hour with the same student. Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions. Set your own schedule and tutor as much as you’d like. Remote work with no commuting. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in High School Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Priority given to those with tutoring experience, teaching experience, and graduate-level education. Ways To Connect With Students 1-on-1 Online Tutoring - Provide personalized instruction to individual students. Instant Tutoring - Accept on-demand tutoring requests whenever you’re available.
