Description We are looking for a highly motivated Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations in Avon, New York. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and providing strategic guidance to optimize the companyu2019s financial health. The Controller will oversee a team of five professionals, manage day-to-day accounting activities, and work closely with operations to support organizational growth. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. u2022 Manage inventory processes, including coordinating month-end physical inventory counts and recording adjustments. u2022 Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, ensuring timely payments and proper reconciliation. u2022 Monitor daily banking activities, manage debt service, and prepare borrowing base reports to meet banking requirements. u2022 Develop and execute budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to track financial performance and support decision-making. u2022 Supervise fixed asset accounting, including depreciation methods, asset additions and disposals, and compliance with policies. u2022 Ensure compliance with tax regulations by managing filings, estimated payments, and addressing tax notices. u2022 Collaborate with the payroll team to oversee payroll journal entries and confidential payroll processes. u2022 Continuously review and improve accounting systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. u2022 Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support the companyu2019s operational and growth objectives. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with supervisory responsibilities. u2022 Proficiency in month-end close processes, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. u2022 Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting, including depreciation methods and ledger management. u2022 Proven ability to manage inventory processes, accounts receivable, and accounts payable functions. u2022 Experience in preparing financial statements and management reports with analytics. u2022 Knowledge of tax compliance processes, including filings and estimated payments. u2022 Familiarity with banking requirements, debt management, and cash controls. u2022 Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
