Description We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Controller to join our client's organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial leadership, strong inventory management expertise (ideally), and advanced understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This hands-on role is critical in driving the companyu2019s financial accuracy and operational efficiency, reporting directly to financial leadership. Key Responsibilities: + Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end/year-end close processes. + Inventory Oversight: Ensure accurate inventory valuation and management, working closely with operational teams to improve inventory tracking and processes. + GAAP Compliance: Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP. Maintain policies and procedures to ensure ongoing adherence to regulatory requirements. + Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and preparing reports for senior management. + Internal Controls: Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets, enhance accuracy, and mitigate risks. + Team Leadership: Supervise a small accounting team as a hands-on leader to ensure optimal productivity and collaboration. + Audit Support: Act as the point person for audits, providing detailed and accurate documentation to auditors. + Process Improvements: Assist in implementing and improving financial and operational systems to scale the business efficiently. Requirements + Education: Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA certification is highly preferred but is not required. + Experience: A minimum of 7+ years in a hands-on Controller role, with strong experience in financial reporting. + GAAP Expertise: Deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including staying up to date on accounting standards and guidance. + Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks & ERP experience preferred) and Advanced Excel skills. + Leadership Skills: Proven experience in building and managing high-performing accounting teams. + Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills. + Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
