This includes: + Leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacheru2019s existing lesson plans + Assigning reasonable tasks and homework + Motivating students to learn, and encourage classroom participation + Adapting to the various learning styles of students + For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments Minimum requirements: + For Substitute Teachers: At least 20 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent (Higher education degree is a plus) + For Substitute Paraprofessionals: At least 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent + For Long-term Substitute Teachers: At least 20 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent (Long-term is 11+ consecutive days on the same assignment.) + All candidates must be comfortable working with a computer-based scheduling and payroll system + Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal communication skills Daily Substitute Teacher pay is $115/day. Long-term Substitute Teacher Pay is $180/day (after the 11 th consecutive day on the same assignment).
