Ideal for professionals who want to join a respected, innovation-driven eye care team with a focus on personalized results.We are now hiring for a part-time Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.This position will work 3 days per week (Monday - Friday) Varied day-time schedule. Approximately 15 hours per week.This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making. Ophthalmic skills include: Obtaining and documenting patient historyDetermining visual acuityPerforming automated refractionAdministering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physicianPerforming office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMRPproviding patient servicesMeasurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)Pre-operative preparation of patientMaintaining equipment and instruments• 2 to 3 years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred • COA preferred not required• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required • Must be flexible with traveling to various locations. • Ability to pay attention to detail • Ability to maintain confidentiality • The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable • The ability to recognize inconsistencies Education/Certifications: • Graduation from an accredited high schoolEyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
