Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead the financial operations of our organization in Monterey, California. This role involves managing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and delivering accurate financial reports. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting for detail-oriented services, trust account management, and regulatory compliance, preferably within a law firm environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management, billing, collections, and bank reconciliations. u2022 Ensure compliance with trust account regulations and state bar rules by managing client trust accounts effectively. u2022 Coordinate monthly and annual financial closing processes, producing timely and accurate financial reports. u2022 Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning. u2022 Monitor and improve internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures. u2022 Supervise and mentor accounting staff by assigning tasks, providing training, and conducting performance evaluations. u2022 Liaise with external tax professionals, banking institutions, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance. u2022 Manage cash flow, prepare financial statements, and oversee the firmu2019s financial reporting systems. u2022 Evaluate and recommend financial software solutions, including legal accounting tools like QuickBooks, Elite, Aderant, or Centerbase. Moore Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. u2022 At least 3 years of experience in accounting, with 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role preferred. u2022 Strong understanding of trust accounting and legal billing practices. u2022 Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliations. u2022 Experience preparing financial statements and conducting audits. u2022 Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial tools, such as QuickBooks or similar platforms. u2022 Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage staff and collaborate across departments. u2022 Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
