Cost Accountant

Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our dynamic manufacturing team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing and managing costs to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities: u2022 Conduct detailed cost analysis to support accurate pricing and financial decision-making. u2022 Oversee inventory management processes, including cycle counting and reconciliation. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries during month-end close, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records. u2022 Reconcile accounts to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions. u2022 Apply cost accounting principles to analyze actual costs and improve financial forecasting. u2022 Utilize advanced Excel skills to create and manage financial models and reports. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on cost-saving opportunities. u2022 Support the financial planning process by providing detailed cost analysis and projections. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. u2022 Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within the aerospace industry. u2022 Familiarity with Hyperion software is preferred. u2022 Strong knowledge of inventory management practices and cycle counting processes. u2022 Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. u2022 Experience with month-end close procedures, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations. u2022 Solid understanding of cost accounting principles and actual cost analysis. u2022 Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
