Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.A caregiver in this role works four 10-hour shifts from 12:00 p.m. -- 10:30 p.m., with a weekend rotation every sixth weekend from 6:30 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels to patients of all ages.Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.Educate patients regarding procedure, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.Perform VNA punctures as necessary.Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest levelMinimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic TechnologyRegistered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT) in good standingComputed Tomography (CT) Certification [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hireCurrent state licensureBasic Life Support (BLS) CertificationKnowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processesPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:One year of experience as a General Radiologic TechnologistOur caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
