The Dental Hygienist within the Faculty Dental Practice, located at Broad and Spring Garden Streets will provide clinical hygiene services and direct care to patients of record and new patients within the clinic. This will include managing and maintaining their own book of patients, documenting all services appropriately within the axium system, managing the re-call program, and coordinating and scheduling treatments. In addition, the Dental Hygienist will also be responsible for working with administrative staff to assist with any patient related issues regarding services rendered, billing or insurance issues etc. as well as assisting with the day to day operations of the clinic including ordering supplies, maintaining inventory and dental instruments, troubleshooting faulty equipment etc. Other responsibilities will include filling in at the front desk when needed, includingu00a0greeting and checking patients into the clinic, scheduling and confirming appointments, creating and maintaining patient files, tracking and maintaining patient flow within the practice, answering phones, screening calls, taking messages, answering questions of a non-complex nature. Performs other duties as assigned.u00a0Registered Dental Hygienist with current Pennsylvania License or ability to obtain PA license and clinical experience including experience managing and maintaining a large book of patients. Must have X-ray, CPR and BLS certification.Bachelor's degree and experience managing large office/clinic preferred.u00a0Must be able to primarily work at our clinic located in the Broad St and Spring Garden St area, but travel to the main dental school as needed.Must be able to work nontraditional business hours including some shifts from 8AM to 8 PM during the week and some hours on Saturdays.Ability to obtain PA Child Abuse prehensive knowledge of oral hygiene care.u00a0 Must be cognizant of the public, social and economic factors, which influence the overall health of the patients.Prior experience working with a computerized Dental Clinic Management System.Strong motor functions.Empathy and Compassion.Extreme attention to detail as well as confidentiality.Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff and patients.Self-motivated with solid time management and organizational skills.Excellent work ethic and energy level with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.Must have an understanding of dental insurances, pre-authorizations etc.
