u003cdivu003eu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eWe are working with a charter school system to find qualified special education teachers to work in Southgate, MI.u0026 u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003eu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003ePosition Overview:u003c/strongu003e The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring instructional programs for students with special needs in compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations.u0026 u003c/pu003eu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eKey Responsibilities:u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003eu003colu003eu003cliu003eDevelop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for each student, in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.u003c/liu003eu003cliu003eAssess students' skills and abilities to determine their needs and to develop appropriate teaching plans.u003c/liu003eu003cliu003eCollaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, and other school staff to integrate students into the general education environment when appropriate.u003c/liu003eu003cliu003eEmploy specialized teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.u003c/liu003eu003cliu003eCreate a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes self-reliance, problem-solving skills, and social skills.u003c/liu003eu003cliu003eCommunicate regularly with parents or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss the student's progress and needs.u003c/liu003eu003cliu003eStay up-to-date with changes and developments in special education by attending professional development courses, reading relevant literature, and participating in local and state special education groups.u003c/liu003eu003c/olu003eu003cpu003eu003cstrongu003eRequirements:u003c/strongu003eu003c/pu003eu003colu003eu003cliu003eBachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
