Job Description

The Englewood, CO office is looking for a Structural Design Manager to lead the structural design department within our Energy & Industrial Group.Directly manage, mentor, and motivate a team of structural designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Conduct performance reviews, manage workloads, and oversee professional development.Develop and implement departmental standards, processes, and best practices to maximize efficiency, quality, and project throughput.Manage project performance of direct reports to meet deadline and budget requirements. Provide quality assurance of structural drawing deliverables for the department.This position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing structural steel design and reinforced concrete design layout drawings in a 3-D modelDevelop structural steel framing drawings, concrete wall and foundation drawings and detailing consistent with the engineering requirementsAct as the structural design team lead in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated structural design modelResolve clashes and discrepancies in the 3D model and report status Coordinate and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely designIndependently plan and execute design of structural deliverablesWe do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.Essential skills and experience:An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experienceExperience withCadWorx Structure modeling software is requiredEight or more years of detailed design experience in the development of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawingsProficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout modelsExperience in the review of structural layout drawings involving steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailingAbility to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process.Valued but not required experience:Proficiency with MicroStation, Plant 3D, Advanced SteelMicrosoft Office toolsAt Sargent & Lundy, we care about the health and well-being of our employees.
