Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: [Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.] Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:This individual will lead a systems team performing analysis, design, implementation, and test activities as part of a strategic guidance system development effort. Additional tasks include support of on-going Internal Research & Development (IRAD) activities in the area of inertial guidance. These tasks are related to activities in our Advanced Guidance Lab (AGL) and include guidance concepts, technologies, PNT tools and lab infrastructure.The selected candidate should also have good oral and written communications skills, and perform work assignments under minimal supervision, and support frequent communications within and across Integrated Product Teams.Additional ResponsibilitiesMust demonstrate a scientific background and the ability to further advance GDMS technology.Must possess a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge experienceof Systems Engineering and development of system architecturesMust possess the ability to lead large systems development effortsMust possess manager experience and the abilityto shape team cultureMust possess good communication skills, including with customer and project managementCandidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needsSupport and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and proceduresFollow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practicesThe preferred candidate should have some or all the following qualifications:Electrical engineering experienceEmbedded programming (C, C++, python, JavaScript) and microcontroller experienceClosed loop control experienceDigital signal processing experienceSimulation and modelling experienceFirmware architecture development experienceKnowledge and understanding of electronics and electrical systemsModel Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experienceAgile Method experienceExperience with Jira and ConfluenceWorkplace Options:This position is flex/hybrid.
