Steampunk?is seeking a?Solution Architect?to drive pre-sales technical engagement and solution design for our Federal market clients. This individual will report to the Chief Technology Officer and will team with our client portfolio teams to seek an understanding of our clients’ technical requirements, envisioning innovative solutions, and supporting business development activities through technical expertise and consultative skills. The Solution Architect will work closely with sales and delivery teams to translate complex technical capabilities into compelling client solutions across all Federal market sectors with the goal of growing the business.You will work as a key technical resource supporting Steampunk's business development and client engagement efforts. We are looking for candidates with 5-10 years of experience who can serve as trusted technical advisors to Federal clients and internal sales teams. This role requires strong communication skills to articulate technical solutions to both technical and executive audiences, along with the ability to understand diverse client environments and craft tailored solutions.You will act as both technical consultant and strategic advisor, bridging the gap between Steampunk's technical capabilities and client mission requirements.Responsibilities include:Serves as the primary technical resource for pre-sales activities across all Federal market sectors (Homeland, Federal Civilian, Health, and DoD)Partners with sales teams to understand client technical requirements and develop compelling solution architecturesConducts technical discovery sessions with prospective clients to assess current state, identify challenges, and envision future state solutionsDevelops technical content for proposals, RFI responses, market research, and other business development materialsCreates solution architectures and technical approaches that demonstrate Steampunk's capabilities in DevSecOps, Cloud, Software Development, Cybersecurity, Data, AI/ML, and Digital PlatformsDelivers technical presentations and demonstrations to client stakeholders at various levelsCollaborates with internal technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and aligned with delivery capabilitiesMaintains current knowledge of Federal technology trends, requirements, and emerging opportunitiesSupports competitive positioning by understanding market landscape and differentiating Steampunk's technical approachParticipates in client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities to build relationships and identify new business opportunitiesDocuments technical requirements, solution designs, and lessons learned to inform future engagementsWorks closely with Operations Directors and Program Managers to transition successful proposals to delivery teamsRequired:Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security ClearanceBS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 5 years related IT experience5-10 years of technology experience with demonstrated expertise in 2-3 of the following areas, with working knowledge across the remaining areas:DevSecOps practices and toolingCloud Architecture, Engineering, and Operations (AWS, Azure, GCP)Software Development and modern development practicesCybersecurity frameworks and implementationData Architecture, Engineering, and OperationsData Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial IntelligenceDigital Platforms and low-code/no-code solutions (e.g., Salesforce)Experience in pre-sales, technical sales, solution consulting, or technical account management rolesStrong client-facing communication and presentation skillsAbility to translate technical concepts for both technical and executive audiencesExperience working with Federal clients or understanding of Federal technology requirements preferredCandidates must be local to Washington, DC and able to support in-person customer engagements.Will be required to be on site 2-3 days a weekExcellent written communication skills for proposal and technical documentation developmentPreferred:Hands-on technical experience in one or more core competency areasTechnology certifications in relevant areas (AWS, Azure, GCP, Salesforce, etc.)Previous experience with Federal contracting or government technology initiativesExperience with Human-Centered Design methodologiesBackground in technical writing for proposals, RFIs, or market researchHistory of supporting successful business development activitiesAs part of the application process, you are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments.
