Sample Preparation Technician

About the roleWithin the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervisionLoading and unloading drying ovens under supervisionMaintain own production logs;General cleaning duties for basic lab cleanliness;May assists with layout duties/tasksHandling compositing, screen metallics, special handling requests, etc.;Inspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is required;analytical qualityObserve established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedAbout youGood hand-eye coordinationGood organizational skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamBasic alpha/numeric comprehensionBasic English communication skills (written and verbal).Required QualificationsAbility to sit and/or stand for long periods of timeAbility to work in a hot and dusty environmentManual dexterity to perform repetitive tasksAbility to lift up to 50lbs; sometimes continuously (occasionally lifting may exceed 50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the lift assist equipment)Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilitiesBe cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipment.
