Since 1977, Sojourner Center has been a safe haven from domestic violence for women and their children in Arizona. Since our founding, we have transformed lives by providing shelter and support services to more than 60,000 adults and children affected by domestic violence. We provide a broad spectrum of services to victims of domestic violence, while working with professionals in the field on education, research and advocacy with the goal of ending domestic violence.Job Summary:The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and coordination of community interaction within the Volunteer Program and Donation Resource Center Program including recruitment, orientation, training, tracking, recognition and retention of volunteers and in-kind donors. This position works closely with all programs to support staff and enhance programs and services.Schedule: Mon-FriRate of Pay: $21.00/hourRecruits and retains individual volunteersHosts volunteer orientation and trainings; plans quarterly trainings to enhance volunteer knowledgeCommunicates regularly with volunteers, answering queries and scheduling appointments in a timely mannerCompletes volunteer background checks and uses best practices when onboarding volunteersMaintains volunteer files in accordance with funding and regulatory standards; tracks actions and pertinent information in the Bloomerang databaseRoutinely enters and reports volunteer hours and demographics; communicates interdepartmentally regarding volunteer activities and projectsTrains, equips, supports, and recognizes volunteersOversees communication with in-kind donors through email, phone and social media as neededAssists Community Engagement Manager with group volunteers and projectsWorks with Community Engagement Manager to plan internal events such as: Holiday Programming, Volunteer Recognition Event, and donor sponsored eventsRepresents and promotes awareness of Sojourner Center at public speaking, community outreach events and networking groups in the communitySeeks professional groups and education for professional growth and knowledge of best practicesWorks closely with and supports Community Engagement Manager as neededHigh School or equivalentComputer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bloomerang desiredValid Arizona Driver License, proof of automobile insurance and Motor Vehicle Record acceptable to Sojourner Center’s insurance companyAbility to obtain a Level I Fingerprint Clearance CardPhysical Factors/Working Conditions Ability to work in an office settingRequires the use of a computer and other standard office equipmentTravel between work locations and within the community requiredFlexibility in scheduling required (some evenings/weekends)Other Duties:Performs other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a complete comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.EEO Employer
