Summary This Physician Assistant (Primary Care) position serves the Central Texas VA Health Care System and Ambulatory Care Service at the Brownwood VA Clinic located at 2600 Memorial Park Drive, Brownwood, TX 76801. Responsibilities The Physician Assistant is a clinical provider that practices within the Rules and Regulations of the Nursing Practice Act of the state of licensure. The Physician Assistant collaborates with other disciplines to develop, implement, and coordinate a system of patient care delivery that promotes communication, teamwork, high quality care, patient satisfaction, positive outcomes, appropriate utilization of resources and cost-effective services. Physician Assistant functions as a registered nurse with advanced education and experience. Duties include but are not limited to: Demonstrating leadership, experience and creative approaches to management of complex patients, Functioning in a variety of leadership roles that influence patient care, organizational processes and/or systems to improve overall outcomes, Assisting nursing staff and the interdisciplinary team to clarify and meet health goals for individuals, families and specified patient populations, Administering injections and performing biopsies, Providing Well Women's Healthcare, Demonstrating competence in performing emergency/urgent care duties, etc. Telework: Not Available. (Typically M-F; 0730-1600 CST or as agreed upon with the possibility of extended hours and weekends. NOTE: Candidates must be willing to work weekends, irregular work hours and extended hours.
