Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled and meticulous Senior Accountant to join our team in Hogansburg, New York. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, including month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, and compliance with legal standards. This position is perfect for a proactive individual who excels in managing complex accounting tasks and identifying process improvements. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed financial reports. u2022 Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. u2022 Compile and present internal and external financial statements in compliance with required standards. u2022 Oversee the management of fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and accruals. u2022 Collaborate with various departments to maintain financial consistency and accuracy. u2022 Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives. u2022 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations. u2022 Provide documentation and assistance during audits to meet organizational requirements. u2022 Identify and implement enhancements to accounting processes and workflows. u2022 Mentor less experienced accounting staff, offering guidance and support as needed. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field. u2022 At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in mid- to large-sized organizations. u2022 Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and internal controls. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. u2022 Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. u2022 High attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate financial management.
