Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Syracuse, New York, on a long-term contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to manage essential accounting functions while collaborating with diverse clients and contributing to their financial success. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations. u2022 Prepare and maintain financial statements, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations on a monthly basis. u2022 Support month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure accurate reporting. u2022 Collaborate with client finance teams to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements. u2022 Assist with budget preparation and provide accurate financial reporting to stakeholders. u2022 Ensure compliance with company standards and client-specific policies. u2022 Adapt to various work environments, ranging from small businesses to large corporate settings. u2022 Provide expertise in using accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite. u2022 Monitor financial transactions and maintain organized records for auditing purposes. Requirements u2022 A minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, with exposure to multiple industries preferred. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite. u2022 Solid understanding of general accounting principles and payroll procedures. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work independently. u2022 Strong communication and organizational skills. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. u2022 Ability to adapt to onsite work requirements based on client needs. u2022 A proactive attitude and eagerness to learn and contribute in varying environments.
