Our office has an immediate opening for a Constituent Liaison based in our office.The Constituent Liaison position is full-time, salaried, and located in Senate District 52, in Ithaca.Strong interpersonal/communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and capacity to work on/undertake multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously are a must. The selected candidate will work closely with senior members of our district office, as well as senior staff of other elected officials and organizations.Roles and Responsibilities:u2022Handle constituent cases and follow up with appropriate agencies to see cases throughu2022Act as a liaison and go-to person between members of the community, local, and state agencies and the Senatoru2022Attend community meetings and events to provide information about and promote the Senatoru2019s initiatives to address issues and concernsu2022Remain current on the Senatoru2019s legislative and policy agenda and serve as a resource regarding those issues for the local community and colleaguesu2022Input information and monitor the New York State Senate Bluebird database in a timely manner u2013 knowledge of the New York State Senate Bluebird database is not requiredu2022Provide status updates to the Community Affairs Director on caseloads, community issues, events, staff concerns, scheduling issues, and any other matter that may require the teamu2019s attentionu2022Collaborate with staff to address community concerns by developing and implementing strategies that utilizes tools at the teamu2019s disposal, including correspondence, communication platforms, forums, events, and meetingsTo learn more about our mission and the exciting work, visit: Minimum Qualifications u2022Advanced written and verbal communication skillsu2022Familiarity with the district, as well as the concerns and challenges facing its residentsu2022Understanding of legislative policies, state laws, state grant program, and other relevant state, local, and federal resourcesu2022Associateu2019s, bachelors, or advanced degree requiredu2022Flexibility to work some weekends and evenings, as necessaryu2022Demonstrated history of working collaborativelyu2022Ability to travel within the district and to and from Albany for major events is desirable Additional Comments The salary range is $45,000 to $50,00, commensurate with education and terested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to .
