Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. This role involves managing payroll processes, maintaining employee records, and overseeing essential HR functions. The ideal candidate will have a background in dealership settings and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles. Responsibilities: u2022 Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 70 employees accurately and on time. u2022 Prepare detailed payroll reports for various departments to ensure transparency and compliance. u2022 Maintain and update group time and labor software to track employee hours effectively. u2022 Monitor and document compliance with mandatory training programs, certifications, and workplace assessments. u2022 Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications as part of the onboarding process. u2022 Facilitate new employee orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new team members. u2022 Administer HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leaves, and workersu2019 compensation. u2022 Address employment-related inquiries from employees, managers, and applicants while providing guidance on HR policies. u2022 Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations when necessary. u2022 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by reviewing and updating policies regularly. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a dealership or similar environment. u2022 Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks. u2022 Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank reconciliation processes. u2022 Familiarity with payroll processing and HR administration. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. u2022 Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. u2022 Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with employees at all levels. u2022 Up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
