Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Coconut Grove, Florida. This role will involve overseeing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in construction draw reconciliations, budgets, and payments. Candidates should possess a strong background in construction accounting and demonstrate proficiency in handling general ledger tasks and month-end close activities. Responsibilities: u2022 Review and reconcile construction draw budgets and payments to ensure accuracy and compliance. u2022 Identify and categorize transactions within the accounts payable system and accounting software. u2022 Perform month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial reports. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date. u2022 Reconcile accounts and bank statements to verify the accuracy of financial data. u2022 Analyze financial discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. u2022 Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. u2022 Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Requirements u2022 Construction industry experience. u2022 Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. u2022 Strong knowledge of account and bank reconciliation procedures. u2022 Familiarity with construction draw reconciliations and payment processes. u2022 Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively. u2022 Excellent organizational and communication skills. u2022 Advanced proficiency in accounting software and systems. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
