This rolesupports student success through individualized guidance, programplanning, and strategic leadership of summer onboarding initiatives.Responsibilities Academic Advising (~70%) Provide academic advising andreferrals to campus resources for undergraduate and prospectivestudents. Interpret and communicate School of Education and universityacademic policies, procedures, and program requirements. Support studentdecision-making related to course selection, study abroad, andpre-professional experiences. Advise students through multiplemodalities: one-on-one appointments, group sessions, drop-ins, virtualadvising, and program-specific events. Maintain accurate and timelyrecords of student interactions using the Advisor Notes System andStarfish. Advocate for student needs and represent the School ofEducation on internal and campus-wide committees. SOAR ProgramManagement (~30%) Serve as the School of Education representative onthe campus SOAR coordinating committee. Develop the summer studentenrollment schedule and advising calendar. Coordinate advisor trainingand establish School-specific advising policies for SOAR. Participate inhiring and onboarding of peer advisors and a graduate assistant.Collaborate on the creation and revision of advising materials usedduring SOAR. Collect and report data on student enrollment and advisingoutcomes.
