Reference #: R-101120Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Credit Bankruptcy Officer is responsible for coordinating, monitoring and analyzing loans when a borrower files a bankruptcy petition.Essential FunctionsEnsure integrity of loan documentationReview loan documents for perfection of collateralPrepare and analyze bankruptcy reportsIdentify and resolve problems / issuesRecord all agreements and conversationsPrepare correspondence and documentationPrepare and file proofs of claimAttend 341 meetings and/or bankruptcy hearings as needed and/or direct outside counsel regarding sameMonitor collection activity and bankruptcy filingsReport agreed payment terms and plansPartner with loan officersPrepare for litigationOrder appraisalsInitiate Charge-offs / write downsPrepare reviews and monthly bankruptcy updatesRecommend improvements to proceduresBuild relationships with internal customersMaximize technology tools availableMinimize departmental non-payroll costsEnsure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsNavigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department to maximize technology tools and gain efficiencyWork as part of a teamWork with on-site equipmentEducation + ExperienceBachelor's degree in business/ accounting or finance degree or related subject matter preferredLaw degree preferred5-6 years of experience in Bankruptcy law related to Chapters 7, 11, 12, and 13, retail/consumer and commercial loans preferredAbility to analyze data, prepare bankruptcy related documentsThis position is based onsite Monday - Thursday with Friday as an optional work from home day.#LI-EK1Northwest is an equal opportunity employer.
