You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing client facing applications for BHN Development Productivity Platform. The desired candidate will have an excellent understanding of web and cloud infrastructure technology.Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java (Spring/Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI) in a microservices architectureApply creative design, analytical and problem-solving skills to build developer experiences that meet aesthetic, functional and technical requirementsArchitect and implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, Helm)Build and integrate RESTful APIs and web services, ensuring seamless communication between application front-ends and server-side componentsDesign and implement scalable backend systems on AWS leveraging containers (EKS, ECS, Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)Ensure security, performance, and scalability of Development Productivity Platform products throughout their entire lifecycleCollaborate with Cloud Platform Team to maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworksTroubleshoot and resolve design deficiencies, bugs, and performance issues identified by stakeholders and QA teamsActively participate as a core member of an Agile Scrum team, collaborating with product owners, designers, and business stakeholdersEngage in all Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectivesRequired:8+ years of software development experience using object-oriented programming with Java (Spring Framework, Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI)3+ years developing Full Stack Applications with progressively increasing responsibilities3+ years building cloud-based applications on AWS with REST APIsStrong experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, Helm) for infrastructure provisioningHands-on experience with container orchestration: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, DockerProficiency with AWS services: Auto Scaling Groups (ASG), Redis, and other managed servicesExperience with relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL ServerProven track record working in Agile Scrum environmentsPractical experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines)Strong understanding of multi-tier architecture, microservices patterns, and distributed systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsSelf-starter with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and collaboration skillsEducation:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplinePreferred:Experience with both Java and Python tech stacksKnowledge of caching strategies and Redis implementationVersion control with Git and Bitbucket workflowsExperience mentoring junior engineersPay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays throughout the year 2025, sick pay accrual according to state law, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.Blackhawk Network provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
