This role combines logistics expertise with deep technical understanding of submarine combat systems, providing a unique opportunity to influence how next-generation U.S. Navy systems are maintained, operated, and documented.Job Summary:You will lead ILS product development while serving as a key technical advisor in the implementation and support of Common Infrastructure Services (CIS) and Common Computing Environment (CCE). You’ll ensure technical documentation, maintenance procedures, and training materials are fleet-relevant, accurate, and aligned with evolving system capabilities.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Lead development and review of ILS products, including technical manuals, training materials, and maintenance documentationParticipate in design reviews, software implementation demos, and technical interchange meetings (TIMs)Provide operational feedback on feature design and implementation impacts to engineering and technical writing teamsValidate and refine Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) content for usability, technical accuracy, and structural integrityCollaborate with system engineers, software developers, and government stakeholders to resolve content discrepanciesTranslate complex system behavior into maintainable and user-friendly technical documentationDevelop and review preventive maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentationSupport Navy testing events (both in labs and on submarines), including validation of test proceduresParticipate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and documentation review boardsWhat You’ll Experience:Hands-on support of the cutting-edge Navy AN/BYG-1 submarine combat system Technologies that aren’t just top-notch—they’re often top-secretOpportunities to gain new knowledge and contribute directly to fleet readiness and performanceTravel supporting U.S. Navy vessels and shore-based test labsWork closely with Navy operators, maintainers, and senior technical stakeholdersWhat You Bring to the Table:Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years of relevant work, or Master’s degree with 3+ yearsFully proficient knowledge of ILS elements and Acquisition Logistics principlesExperience with IETMs, technical manual development, and documentation in accordance with DoD standards (MIL-STD-3001, 38784, 24784, 40051-2C)Operational familiarity with SWFTS, CIS, or CCE componentsStrong grasp of Navy maintenance procedures and philosophies, especially for combat systemsExperience working within Navy logistics systems such as CDMD-OA, TDMIS, or SCLSISExcellent technical communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), XML authoring tools (XMLSpy) or similar, and diagramming in VisioComfortable interpreting schematics, interface documentation, and system configuration artifactsWhat Sets You Apart:Former U.S. Navy Fire Control Technician (FT) or SONAR Technician with Virginia, Seawolf, Ohio, or 688-class experiencePrior experience as a BYG-1/SWFTS SystemsStrong leadership presence and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressureExperience authoring content in multiple formats including HTML, PDF, XML, and S1000D-compliant IETMsInstructional design experience and familiarity with Navy training development standardsHands-on experience supporting operational testing and troubleshooting of submarine systemsSubject Matter Expertise (SME) in one or more related technical domainsThis is your chance to contribute to the systems that power the most advanced naval fleet in the world.
