As a Managing Director, Senior Relationship Manager within PNC's Corporate Banking organization, you will be a key member of the expanding Pharma & Life Sciences vertical industry team. This team provides industry coverage of Pharmaceutical & Biotechnology, Medical Device and Medtech, Pharma Services & Technologies, and Pharma Supply Chain clients and prospects across the US. Relationship Managers within PNCu2019s Specialty Industry teams focus on a specific industry and leverage their industry knowledge in a multitude of ways to create value for PNC and the client. Specialty Industry teams augment PNCu2019s core local coverage go-to-market strategy, by providing industry insight, knowledge, and analytics, that is used to develop strategies and tactics including portfolio management, client selection, advisory services, sales efforts, underwriting/credit analysis, transaction vetting, marketing and more. Specialty Industry RMs do not provide direct day-to-day client coverage of clients and prospects in the industry. Instead, they partner with local in-market RMs who u201cownu201d the relationship to deliver the industry expertise and perspective into the relationship. In addition to direct client calling efforts with local RMs, Specialty Industry RMs develop a brand and presence for PNC in the industry in a variety of ways including quarterly newsletters, u201cthought leadership piecesu201d and webinars, presence at industry conferences, and PNC hosted events. Specialty Industry RMs provide connectivity across C&IB business segments, products and geographic markets to help direct and manage PNCu2019s strategic approach to their industry. They provide insights and knowledge to drive and inform client selection, portfolio management, risk assessment, transaction structuring, and underwriting policies. Further, their familiarity with the portfolio helps drive wins across the franchise by replicating successful strategies, creating efficiencies in pitch materials and analysis, and understanding the capital marketsu2019 and our bank competitorsu2019 approach to and views on the industry. This position can be located in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, PA, East Brunswick, NJ, Boston, MA, Raleigh, Charlotte, NC, San Francisco, San Diego, or Orange County, CA. Other major PNC markets may be considered. Preferences: Formal Credit Training Experience with middle market clients (revenue 50mm+) PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. Job Description + Sets relationship strategies and directs relationship management activities with new and/or existing clients to grow sales, revenue and market share. Typically works with clients with advanced levels of risk and complexity of needs. Works independently and may mentor other team members. + Creates and drives strategy to acquire and/or expand and retain client relationships to generate revenue and deepen share of wallet. Handles the origination, financial analysis, negotiation and documentation of credit and non-credit products and services. + Manages risk/return and drives quality for new and/or existing clients. Actively identifies and mitigates different types of risk, such as regulatory, reputational, operational and credit risks. + Focuses on client opportunities by providing ideas and insights based on an understanding of the client's needs and their financial well-being. Drives client engagement and loyalty. Generates ideas and best practices within Relationship Management and may mentor others. + Manages effective network of senior internal and external relationships, such as community and industry relationships, to actively acquire new clients and/or expand existing clients and enhance the client experience. Focuses on bringing entire bank to the client by presenting the full range of PNC's products and services. Leverages reporting and sales tools to proactively identify and successfully convert sales opportunities. + As defined with the business, demonstrates ability to analyze, evaluate and mitigate credit risk for the most complex credit requests by utilizing knowledge of advanced credit fundamentals and internal credit policies. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, or PhD is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8 + years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered. Education Bachelors Certifications No Required Certification(s) Licenses Public Finance & Healthcare - SIE, Series 52 & 63 (79 optional) within 180 days of employment, Corporate Finance SIE, 79 and 63 (7 optional/with manager approval) within 180 days of employment. Other appropriate licenses (e.g. supervisory licenses) may be required at the discretion of the manager. Pay Transparency Base Salary: $100,000.00 u2013 $313,950.00 Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
