Brave Christian Schools Job Description for Elementary Substitute Teacher EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Part-Time, On-Call, Non-Exempt, Hourly REPORTS TO: ES Principal REQUIRED PERSONAL QUALITIES TO MEET BRAVE CHRISTIAN STANDARDS OF EMPLOYMENT: * be a committed Christ follower and active member of a local Church * be a role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others * exemplify the Fruits of the Spirit and demonstrate additional character qualities such as servant leadership, humility, integrity, courage, enthusiasm, strength, courtesy, flexibility, gratitude, and wellness qualities such as energy, stamina and endurance * meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity and optimism * maintain a personal appearance that is modest, clean, business casual (unless otherwise specified for special occasions), and in agreement with church policy * respect people in leadership while appropriately questioning the status quo * refuse to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately * make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the community of Brave Christian Schools SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Implement effective teaching methods and facilitate learning by following or creating a lesson plan * Manage a classroom, provide detailed reports, and communication with school staff * Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment for all students * Work well with diverse student populations * Must be able to manage elementary student population * Incorporate Biblical principals in education REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum BA/BS Degree in related field * Ability to manage elementary student population * Experience in working with Elementary School aged children
