Apply Today!Job Summary and QualificationsGeneral Statement of Duties:The Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) performs diagnostic procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the physician. The sonographer will demonstrate and maintain technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures on the population(s) served by the department and may include abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics (where applicable) and invasive exams. In addition, the sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment. He/she participates in the quality control of the ultrasound department.Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:1. Education: ONE of the following: Hires as of October 1, 2011 - A. Successful completion of training program in either:1. Ultrasonography2. Radiologic Technology3. Vascular TechnologyB. Associates of Science or higher degree Hires prior to October 1, 2011 - A. Successful completion of training program in either:1. Ultrasonography2. Radiologic Technology3. Vascular Technology4. Medical AssistingB. Associates degree or higher degree2. Experience: None required3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).4.
