CDL Driver in Training

County Waste & Recycling in South Cairo, NY is looking to add a CDL Driver in Training to the growing team.Pay rate: $20.00 per hour with an increase to $26.00 per hour when you obtain your CDL.WasteConnectionsis currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as aCDL Driver in Training.WasteConnections will pay for all costs associated with obtaining your CDL and pay you while you learn!In this role, you will work alongside experienced CDL drivers, Driver Trainers, and Operations Supervisors to learn the proper operation of commercial vehicles and obtain yourCommercial DrivingLicense (CDL). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in an industry that offers growth opportunities and steady employment.What To Expect:First two weeks - training at your localWasteConnections district.Within first 30 days - must obtain your CDL permit.Within first 60 days - attendWasteConnections partnered Driving School in Gastonia, NC.As school availability permits.Paid training! Hotel, travel, and food costs will be covered.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Collaborate with experienced CDL drivers to learn safe and efficient operation of commercial vehicles.Attend and actively participate in training programs, classes, and on-the-job training sessions to develop driving skills and knowledge.Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles, documenting checks as required.Follow all safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies while operating municate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and team members to coordinate routes and deliveries.Qualifications:Clean driving record.Ability to obtain CDL permit and CDL within specified timeframes.Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.We offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, short term and long term disability, life insurance, 401(k) retirement and unlimited opportunities to 'Connect with Your Future'.WasteConnections is an equal opportunity employer.
