Software Engineering Intern - Simi Valley, CA

Peraton is seeking a Part-time Software Quality Assurance Intern in Simi Valley, CA. to support our PC based Graphical User Interface (GUI) situational display application. Known as ADIVS (Air Defense Interoperability Validation System) this application is used to test the data link (i.e. Link 16) capabilities of systems prior to them being fielded. Working alongside our experienced software engineers you will be exposed to all phases of product development from requirements to deliverables utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows, Install Shield, TestComplete, GitHub, Subversion and JIRA to name a few. Candidate should be able to work a minimum of 24/hours a week during the academic year and 40/hours a week during summer 2026.This position will be responsible for the following: Office administration support (purchase orders, supplies, shipping, organizing, etc.)Participate in software testing, bug tracking, and requirements traceability using JIRA Assist in preparing Software Documentation to include writing test procedures, trouble reports, and user manual updatesCreating Power Point presentations that capture software changes Preparing software deliverables - CD’s, labels Required Qualifications: A High School diploma and are entering your sophomore year as a student pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field at an accredited university offering a 4-year degree programKnowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systemsExperience with MS Suite: MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS WordAbility to obtain a DOD security clearance, which requires a US citizenshipDesired Qualifications:A GPA of 3.0 or higherExperience with Python, JIRA, Subversion, TortoiseSVN, and TestCompleteBasic software requirements development and software testing experience Strong written and verbal communications skillsAbility to be detailed-oriented and to prioritize work and meet quick turnaround deadlinesExperience with computer hardware and software troubleshootingExperience with Python programing language#PeratonInternPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
