RWE Clean Energy, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: Health, Safety & EnvironmentRemuneration: ExemptAs the Senior Associate, HSSE Operations & Project Execution, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all colleagues and business partners while actively contributing to the achievement of departmental KPIs and targets. You will support the implementation of HSSE management systems, processes, and programs across projects under development, project execution sites, and ongoing operations. The role requires ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements, driving the adoption of HSSE best practices and lessons learned, and facilitating investigations and root cause analysis when needed. Operating independently with integrity and efficiency, you will work toward achieving HSSE goals while effectively managing and reporting daily, weekly, and monthly activities, including addressing non-conformances within HSSE systems.Role Responsibilities:Promotes and ensures the health and safety of all employees, contractors, and subcontractors when working on RWECE facilities and projectsDrives continuous improvement in HSSE within all operations, project execution, and functional departments of the companyFrequently travels to facilities and projects within the assigned regionConducts investigations, prepares & submits reports and updates to the KPA Flex systemPartners with Operations, Project Execution, and Engineering on the development of CAPA for incidents and events through closureMaintains, monitors, and reports HSSE performance metrics, statistics, records, and injury reports (OSHA 300) in a timely manner, using automated record-keeping systems for the assigned regionPerforms and documents Wind/Solar/Battery Operations, Project execution audits, inspections, and technical assessments/observationsLeads the implementation and monitoring of HSSE programs across a portfolio of sites within a designated region or technology type.Delivers HSSE training on topics such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, working at heights, and hazard communication.Actively participates in Operation, Project Execution, Project Development, and Engineering meetingsJob Requirements and Experience:An Associate's degree, or Bachelor's in Occupational Health, Construction Safety, and/or Environmental Science, or a related field, is requiredProfessional certifications preferredA minimum of 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable; other factors will be taken into considerationA minimum of 3 years of EHS experience applicable to operations, maintenance, and/or construction of power generation and related facilities (Wind/Solar/Battery) is requiredWorking knowledge of federal OSHA and EPA, state OSHA/EPA, and labor standards for General and Construction industries, as well as the general principles of Industrial Safety and Industrial HygieneSpecific knowledge of local and state safety and environmental regulations is desirableProficiency with MS Office Suite, project implementation, and safety platformsEffectively engages peers from all levels of the organization to achieve a common vision, goals, and objectives for a safe working environmentPerformance orientation: Self-motivated to drive the business, increase performance, and deliver resultsTactical and strategic thinking: Push boundaries to achieve goals, utilizing resources in a matrix organization to deliver a safe workplaceContinuous improvement: innovative, identifies best practices and lessons learned to propel the organizationIntegration management: Ability to lead teamsWorking together: Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams both internally and externally Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate internally & externally within the chain of command and within his/her level of authorityOpen mindset: able to learn and act on feedbackHands-on mentality: Actively involving him-/herself, pragmatic and fact-focused attitudeUnderstanding of regulatory framework in different jurisdictions/marketsUnderstanding of regulatory decision-making proceduresUnderstanding of business model, regulatory, and technical developments as well as potential implicationsFlexibility and willingness to travel domestically as needed to effectively perform the jobLanguages: English mandatory, additional languages an advantagePhysical Requirements:This is a safety-sensitive position. Primarily field environment; up to and possibly more than 50% travel; may be exposed to hazardous conditions (Working at Height 300+ft., Confined Space, Bloodborne Pathogens); supports multiple office and field work sitesIf required to climb, will be Wind Turbine Climb certified with a medical evaluation to obtain clearance to work at height in extreme hot and cold conditionsIf required to climb, must pass the required fit for duty requirementsMust be able to demonstrate flexibility and a full range of movement in order to work in Confined SpacesIf required to climb, must maintain appropriate body weight with PPE and tools to not exceed OSHA limit of 310 pounds and posted weight limits on laddersWill be offered a Hepatitis B vaccination for potential occupational exposure to Bloodborne pathogens while providing First Aid/ CPR. Will be required to maintain First Aid, CPR and AED certificationApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. RWE Clean Energy is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $90,000 - $120,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
