Certified Payroll Specialist

Description A well-established engineering and infrastructure company in Carlsbad is seeking a meticulous and deadline-driven Certified Payroll Specialist to join their growing accounting team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all payroll-related reporting for prevailing wage projects. Responsibilities: + Process certified payroll for multiple projects in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. + Review and verify timecards, wage determinations, and labor classifications to ensure compliance. + Maintain complete and accurate payroll records for audits and project closeouts. + Submit certified payroll reports (CPRs) and compliance documents on time to relevant agencies. + Coordinate with project managers, HR, and accounting teams to resolve payroll discrepancies. + Stay current with prevailing wage laws and reporting requirements, updating internal processes as needed. Requirements + 3+ years of payroll experience, including at least 2 years of certified payroll. + Familiarity with Davis-Bacon Act, DIR, and state-specific prevailing wage laws. + Strong Excel and reporting skills; experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Viewpoint, or ADP a plus. + Excellent attention to detail and communication skills. + Strong time management and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
