Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team in Geneseo, New York. This position plays a vital role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining the integrity of financial data. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage the daily operations of the accounting and business office, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. u2022 Lead the creation of the annual budget and analyze variances to provide actionable insights. u2022 Coordinate audit processes, address findings, and ensure timely compliance with regulatory standards. u2022 Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with organizational standards. u2022 Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including end-of-month financial reports and reconciliations. u2022 Conduct cash management activities, including bank transfers and positive pay programs. u2022 Supervise and mentor accounting and business office staff, fostering growth and development. u2022 Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance financial operations. u2022 Collaborate on cost-saving initiatives and provide recommendations based on financial analysis. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of accounting experience. u2022 Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including financial reporting and analysis. u2022 Strong analytical abilities with a proven track record of solving complex financial problems. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. u2022 Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage diverse teams. u2022 Leadership capabilities to mentor and guide staff toward achieving organizational goals. u2022 Competence in interpreting and presenting financial data to key stakeholders. u2022 Preferred certification in accounting or finance, though not required.
