Job Title: HVAC Designer Job Description + This position involves specializing in the design and coordination of HVAC systems for K-12 educational facilities, healthcare institutions, and New York State OGS projects. + The role requires planning, designing, and coordinating the layout of HVAC systems in buildings using REVIT. + Additionally, the position involves creating detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM tools, developing HVAC layouts, performing load calculations, selecting appropriate HVAC equipment, and ensuring designs meet building codes and energy standards. Responsibilities + Plan, design, and coordinate the layout of HVAC systems in buildings using REVIT. + Create detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM tools. + Develop HVAC layouts including ductwork, piping, and equipment placement. + Perform load calculations to determine heating and cooling requirements. + Select appropriate HVAC equipment based on project needs and specifications. + Ensure designs meet building codes, energy standards (e.g., ASHRAE), and client requirements. + Prepare specifications, schedules, and technical reports. + Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors throughout the design and construction phases. + Attend design review meetings and site visits to verify installation and resolve issues. + Support value engineering efforts to optimize cost and performance. Essential Skills + HVAC Design Experience + Proficiency in Revit (minimum 3 years) + Mechanical Building Experience + Mechanical Engineering + Plumbing/Fire Protection Design Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in commercial building projects + Mechanical design and electrical knowledge Work Environment + The role is primarily office-based, with some hybrid flexibility. + The work environment includes a steady backlog of work, offering exciting K-12 projects and OGS projects. + There are opportunities to grow technical skills and take on new leadership roles, with a clear path for growth within the firm supported by several PEs. + Collaboration with department managers is encouraged. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $43.26/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
