Your responsibilities will include:Apply your expertise in emergency medicine, critical care, and anesthesia to stabilize and treat patients in urgent need.Utilize your technical skills to perform procedures such as venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, radiography, patient prep and recovery, and anesthesia monitoring.Provide attentive nursing care for critical, non-ambulatory, and trauma patients, including monitoring and physiotherapy when appropriate.Obtain and review detailed patient histories and communicate effectively with clients during high-stress situations.Maintain accurate medical records and ensure seamless collaboration with veterinarians and the broader care team.Assist in triage, patient assessment, and emergency procedures, always advocating for patient comfort and safety.Handle client communications by providing updates, reviewing treatment plans, and explaining medical procedures with clarity and compassion.Prepare treatment estimates, review them with pet owners, and manage billing and invoicing efficiently.Contribute to team initiatives and departmental projects to advance emergency care and improve patient outcomes.Foster long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community through teamwork, professionalism, and empathy.About You:Registered Veterinary Technician licensure required with the Eastern Veterinary Technicians Association (EVTA) and Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association (NSVMA)2+ years of experience (preferably in ER and/or critical care)Experienced in inpatient care, lab work, radiology, and critical thinking under pressureA compassionate team player who thrives in a collaborative settingA natural communicator who builds trust with clients and colleaguesDetail-oriented, dependable, and eager to learn and grow🏥 About MVESCA new standard of care in Atlantic Canada — featuring:✔️ 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care✔️ Neurology, Surgery, Internal Medicine & more✔️ Exotics, Acupuncture, Chiropractic, Cardiology✔️ 4 Surgical Suites, ICU, Endoscopy, Ultrasound✔️ On-site Rehab Suite w/ Underwater Treadmill✔️ BRAND NEW GE Revolution EVO 128-Slice CT Scanner✔️ MRI coming November 2025!Why Join MVESC?Work in a cutting-edge hospital with a collaborative, supportive culture.Be part of a growing specialty service with opportunities to shape its future.Advance your skills in Neurology, anesthesia, and critical care.Learn more at
