Under the supervision of the Director of Aquatics, the Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons in the aquatics area. Delivers excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants. Promotes all aquatic programs and activities. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the entire aquatics area. Responsible for managing the functions of the aquatics area in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff and Board of Directors.Lifeguards needed to work throughout the school year. Lifeguarding certifications must be current. Looking for two responsible lifeguards for the early am shift of 5:45am-11:00am and two for either shift 11:00am-4:00pm or 4:00pm-8:00pm.This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.Protect lives and ensure patron safety. You are responsible for each life that is in the pool area. Be Alert, Be Diligent, Be Conscientious and Be ConsistentParticipate in in-service training and staff meetings as scheduled by the Director of AquaticsReport to duty 10 minutes before start time to receive information from the outgoing lifeguardMaintain the proper dress code assigned, always including hip pack and rescue tubeLifeguard must be in the lifeguard chair at all times when pool is occupiedEnsure that all records and lifeguard certifications are up to datePerform appropriate patron surveillance and appropriate rescues as taughtComplete all tasks assignedEnforce all pool and spa rules consistentlyMaintain positive interaction with patrons of all agesAssist in pool operations and maintain a safe and clean environmentMaintain records for all daily chemical checks and opening/closing proceduresMinimum 16 years of age preferredLifeguard/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certificationBlood borne pathogens training requiredExcellent interpersonal skills with children and adults.Ability to connect with people of a variety ofbackgrounds.The employee frequently is required to walk, stand, kneel, and stoop.Must be able to sit on the floor and get back up.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.Flexible work scheduleFree individual Y membershipProgram discountsRetirement contribution for eligible staffUSD $11.33 - USD $15.45 /Hr.
