Clinical ResponsibilitiesProvides comprehensive medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for pediatric consumers in accordance with developmental and behavioral health standards.Coordinates appropriate medical and developmental follow-up after discharge or treatment completion.Adheres to the professional code of ethics and scope of practice for Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.Practices evidence-based standards of pediatric care, ensuring age-appropriate assessments, interventions, and education for patients and families.Collaborates with families and caregivers to promote understanding of treatment plans and continuity of care.Supervision and ConsultationCollaborates effectively with supervising Medical Doctor in accordance with the signed protocol and formulary, ensuring alignment with pediatric-specific practice standards.Seeks clinical supervision and consultation as needed, particularly in complex pediatric or developmental cases.Accepts and integrates feedback and suggestions for clinical and professional improvement.Actively works to enhance pediatric clinical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and therapeutic approaches through continuing education and mentorship.Clinical Record KeepingDocuments per AltaPointe policy in a timely fashionDocuments appropriate, complete, and clinically comprehensive psychiatric evaluations per AltaPointe policyDocuments in a clear and concise manner, consumer symptoms and treatmentDocuments legiblyCompletes all documentation and paperwork as per AltaPointe policyFollows Department of Medical Records guidelines for documentationCase Load Management:Effectively manages caseload based on consumer needsMeets AltaPointe productivity standardsCourteous and respectful attitudes towards consumers, visitors and co-workersTreats consumers with care, dignity and compassionRespects consumers privacy and confidentialityIs pleasant and cooperative with othersAssists visitors and consumers as neededPersonal values don’t inhibit ability to relate and care for othersIs sensitive to the consumers needs, expectations and individual differencesIs gentle and calm with consumers and familiesAdministrative and Other Related Duties as Assigned:Actively participates in Performance Improvement activitiesActively participates in AltaPointe committees as requiredCompletes assigned tasks in a timely mannerFollows AltaPointe policies and proceduresMaintains current license and requirements for renewals (i.e. CEU’s), maintains appropriate malpractice insurance and attends to required in-services and workshopsAbides by all AltaPointe policies and proceduresDisplays a positive attitude in work environmentPossesses current Alabama license to practice as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Current certification as a Primary Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC) or as a Dual Certified Primary Care/Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-PC/AC) by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).
