Our ability to perform projects collaboratively - under one roof - helps lower costs, increases accuracy, and improves project communications.For more information, please visit www.dyna-oregon.comJob Title: Project Manage/ EstimatorJob Summary:The Project Manager/Estimator (PM/E) performs different functions assigned by the Service &Special Projects Division Manager. The position consists of attending bid walks, estimating,project kickoff and PM duties which involve tasks like conducting research, procuring projectmaterial, assisting team members during project development, scheduling, and updating projectdata; managing paperwork, maintain/updates status logs, and contributes to progress reports.Duties and responsibilities • Review and evaluate project plans and specifications, bid documents, and other relevantproject documents to identify what is needed for a project and to create a bid proposal.• Prepares bid documents including specific scope letter for each project, develops theestimate or budget using Accubid software.• Identify any issues, conflicts, and other problems in the bid documents.• Identify strategies to create bid advantages.• Reviews quotes to confirm adherence to quote requests and accuracy of quotes received.• Calculate the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating availabledocuments.• Lead estimating close out meetings, project kickoff meetings, and project closeoutmeetings.• Price change orders as required and be able to meet with customer to explain and defendthe pricing.• Conduct assessments to identify and seek solutions to project problems in order to reducedowntime.• Build and maintain good working relationships with clients to ensure complete customersatisfaction and good prospects for future business.• Coordinate and ensure smooth operation of multiple projects from start to finish.• Ensure changes in project plan are communicated to team members.• Carry out quality reviews and checks to ensure project operations are in line with industrybest practices.• Fill in for other project managers by managing daily operations in their absence.• Respect decision-making boundaries and know when to call the attention of the manager.• Analyze project for value engineering options while taking into account specific jobconditions that may affect labor and material to be purchased and installed.• Anticipate potential problems and devise solutions proactively.• Request material and equipment quotes from vendors and equipment suppliers.• Develops and maintains a positive relationship with vendors & customers.• Provide monthly financial reporting and projecting with management.Qualifications• BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field• At least 3 years of combined experience in estimating or project management in theconstruction industry - preferably electrical contracting• Knowledgeable with a wide variety of electrical materials and methods of installation• Outstanding communication and customer service skills• Excellent organizational and time-management skills• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment• Proficient with BluBeam, Excel, and Word software (Office 365)Working Conditions:Mostly office based, team environment. Typical working hours for a project manager / estimatormay vary. Generally, Monday - Friday during normal business hours, but when deadlinesapproach, they may be required to work much longer hours, including some weekend work. ThePM/E in the field may be required to work out of the office and sometimes to stay away fromhome for short to long periods of time. Some travel may be required for training/continuingeducation.While performing the duties of this job, the PM/E may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles,moving mechanical parts and vibration; may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions atconstruction job sites (weather, noise, etc.). Physical requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a projectmanager to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The PM/E is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Theemployee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move upto 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Direct reportsThe PM/E may occasionally oversee project coordinators and project engineers.
