Payroll Specialist

Description Robert Half Contract Finance and Accounting division is looking for a skilled Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations for a company based in Chester, California. This is a contract position requiring expertise in full-cycle payroll processing, including handling payments for both salaried and hourly employees. The role requires a keen eye for accuracy and compliance with payroll regulations, ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time. This position is hybrid with some days in office, Responsibilities: u2022 Process full-cycle payroll for approximately 100-150 employees u2022 Manage bi-weekly payroll for the majority of employees and some monthly u2022 Verify and reconcile time and attendance records to ensure payroll accuracy. u2022 Prepare and file year-end forms such as W-2s, 1095-Cs, and 1099s in compliance with legal requirements. u2022 Ensure accurate calculation and filing of local payroll taxes. u2022 Oversee accounts payable tasks as they relate to payroll operations. u2022 Utilize Paycom software for payroll processing and reporting. u2022 Address payroll discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner. u2022 Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. u2022 Collaborate with supervisors and management to ensure seamless payroll operations. Requirements u2022 Proven experience managing full-cycle payroll for a workforce of 100+ u2022 MUST have Paycom experience u2022 Familiarity with processing Forms 1099, 1095-C, and W-2. u2022 Proficiency in handling local payroll taxes and reconciling time and attendance records. u2022 Ability to manage bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles with accuracy. u2022 Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. u2022 Solid understanding of payroll compliance regulations and best practices.
