Armed Security Officer for Environmental Protection AgencyPay Rate: $33.411st Shift: Full-time - 36 hours per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday,0600-1800)ObjectiveThis position is under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers, and all visitors.Essential FunctionsRead and understand the English language to effectively carry out applied printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials. Have a command of both the written and spoken English language to properly communicate in person or via electronic devices (telephone and radio) with co-workers and the general public. The ability to maintain a professional, tactful and courteous demeanor under stressful situations security personnel routinely encounter. Be able to compose precise short paragraphs, written reports, and other reports in the English language as necessary.Job DutiesPerforms security patrols.Enforces access control procedures.Protects property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and vestigates and write reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards, and other security-related situations.Assist customers, employees, and visitors in following the department's procedures.May perform other related duties as assigned by a security Lieutenant and/or security Project ManagerCandidate Qualifications:Must be a U.S. CitizenMust be 21 years of ageMust be a High school/GED graduateMust have 2 Years of Armed Security/Law enforcement or three years of Military Service with Honorable DischargeMust have the OPOTA 20 Hr.-private Security Certificate.Must be able to pass the Physical Fitness TestMust be able to pass Background InvestigationAdditional Eligibility Qualifications:The applicant is required to submit to a pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.The applicant must be able to pass an NLIC / State / Local Background check and Credit check (as applicable).Favorable Site Approval from ClientOhio Guard LicenseFirst Aid, CPR, AEDFirearms QualificationDiversified Protection Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
