General ResponsibilitiesOptima Engineering is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator to join our team. This role is key in ensuring that projects are built in accordance with our design documents and maintaining strong relationships with our clients and contractors. As the face of the company on active construction sites, the Construction Administrator provides oversight, identifies issues, and helps keep projects on track.ResponsibilitiesAttend pre-construction and construction progress meetingsConduct routine site visits, issue detailed field reports, and document non-conforming workReview contractor submittals, payment applications, and change ordersDevelop and maintain punch lists, confirm completion, and participate in project close-out reviewsServe as liaison between client, contractor, and design team to support timely issue resolutionRefer field deviations to design engineers and coordinate clarificationsParticipate in project postmortem reviews for larger or complex projectsRequirementsMinimum 5 years of relevant construction administration or field experienceStrong knowledge of MEP/FP systems for commercial buildingsAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawingsFamiliarity with construction processes, building codes, and safety regulationsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including field report preparationValid drivers license with an excellent driving recordAbility to work independently while maintaining collaboration with team membersPreferred QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent technical experience)CDT Certification and/or construction safety trainingExperience with North Carolina State Construction (SCO) projectsProficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Ajera a plusWhy Work at Optima Engineering:We are a well-established multi-disciplined engineering firm with offices located in Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville & Greenville in business since 1992, offering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection & technology related engineering services to diverse market sectors including mission critical, educational, healthcare, commercial, government and other clients.
