Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Sea Launched Cruise Missile-Nuclear (SLCM-N) Deputy Project Manager of Operations (DPMO). Be a part of from the ground up on this new program and opportunity within Pittsfield ManufacturingREPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:Coordinates and performs more complex cross functional tasks in support of the operations/manufacturing organizationMay lead the development of more complex manufacturing and operations plans, schedules, and facilitates assigned projectsWill be part of the proposal efforts for SLCM-NWill be leading the implementation and tailoring of contractual requirementsWill be leading the generation of program documentation specific to Operations/Manufacturing and potentially Supply ChainWill represent Manufacturing in Make/Buy decisions at the program levelWill lead the coordination within Manufacturing for development/qualification builds and the applicable floor/plant layoutWill be the primary POC in regards to Transition to Production (TTP) activitiesWill be the primary point of contact to Program Management, the program IPTWill be the primary point of contact for cost/schedule performance and resource data managementWill coordinate all manufacturing activity to achieve 100% on time deliveryMaintains capital equipment and overhead budget requirementsPrepares complex departmental reports, purchases, requests, and training and development plans and other data as requiredReviews design work requiring independent evaluation, selection, application of standard engineering techniques and procedures Works the application of standard engineering principles and methods to the solution of process/production problems May represent manufacturing on preliminary and critical design reviews led by engineeringCoordinates designs with manufacturing engineering to ensure the practicality of the design and assists in the solution of production difficulties encountered in manufacturing Directs work and offers technical direction and mentoring to lower level specialists and techniciansMay review and approve specifications and drawings for technical accuracy and content as applicableImplements new manufacturing systems including generating supporting operational documentation under the direction of an engineerAssists engineering in the evaluation of new manufacturing systemsInterfaces with engineering departments, quality control, manufacturing, purchasing or other groups as required in order to complete project plans Works independently in following general outlines of assignments Requires only minimal supervision and very little technical assistanceNormally works under the guidance of an operations manager, senior engineer or project leader Will interface with external customers including PMO & DCMAKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Requires intense concentration to assure accurate completion of technical assignmentsRequires multi-tasking abilities without losing focus to complete priority assignmentsRequires the ability to research technical problems and summarize technical information as it applies to the given taskRequires the ability to plan, schedule and execute workGrasps and applies new information quickly; handles more complex assignmentsShows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little directionDirects the efforts of technicians and associates as needed to complete special assignmentsMentors others on the teamFully proficient ability to present technical information to peers using written and verbal approachesFully proficient computer skillsMust have a Manufacturing BackgroundEVMS Certification will be requiredThis estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
