Evaluates and tests the playability of the golf course.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)Knowledge of:Grass varietiesFertilizer compositionGolf course maintenance basicsVarious types of soil and sandIrrigation systemsTesting and diagnostic equipment used for mechanical repairsGolf rules, regulations, and course marking proceduresSkills and Abilities to: Operate equipmentRebuild irrigation componentsPerform basic welding and fabricationApply chemicals or materials at the appropriate rateCommunicate effectively both verbally and in writingPerform tasks independentlyEffectively supervise and train subordinate employeesWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires extensive physical labor: lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 75 pounds, kneeling, bending, stooping, crawling, shoveling, reaching up, over, and down, and sitting for extended periods of time. The work involves exposure to extreme weather conditions, dirt, dust, heat and cold, fumes, and/or loud noises. Work is occasionally performed in confined spaces.
