This role will provide legal advice and strategic guidance on awide range of healthcare regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters to support the company’soperations and growth.The Associate General Counsel serves as a key member of the Legal Department, providing strategic andoperational legal support across the organization. This role advises on healthcare regulatory matters,contracts, compliance, employment law, and corporate governance. The Associate General Counsel partnersclosely with executive leadership, operations, compliance, and human resources to mitigate risk and ensureadherence to applicable laws and regulations.• Advise on key healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute,Medicare/Medicaid, and third-party payors/health plans.• Advise on matters involving AI and cybersecurity in healthcare, including risk assessments, compliancestrategies, and incident response.• Assisting with commercial insurance guidance, including credentialing, appeals, and contracting issues• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors and healthcare partners, including Business AssociateAgreements and Data Processing Agreements.• Support corporate transactions, including M&A (experience preferred, but not required.• Collaborate cross-functionally with compliance, IT, operations, and executive leadership to identify risksand implement solutions.• Monitor and analyze changes in healthcare law and regulation to ensure ongoing compliance.• Assist with internal investigations, audits, and responses to regulatory inquiries.• Familiarity with legal considerations relating to AI and cybersecurity in healthcare.• Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.• Ability to manage multiple projects and provide business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment.• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.• Five (5) years of experience practicing healthcare law at a law firm.• Seven (7) years of experience practicing healthcare law.• At least 1 year of in-house legal experience in the healthcare sector.• Demonstrated expertise in HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, Medicare, and third-partypayor/health plan issues.Why Join MDVIP?• Be part of a mission-driven organization leading innovation in personalized healthcare.• Drive transformation and growth in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.• Competitive Compensation: Attractive base salary complemented by performance-based incentives.• Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, vision insurance, and retirement plans.• Professional Development: Access to ongoing training and leadership development programs.• Positive Work Environment: Consistently recognized as a Great Place to Work®, fostering a culture ofcollaboration and excellence.MDVIP is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender,gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, veteran status, or anyother protected status.
