MidWest Eye Center has a complete roster of board-certified Ophthalmologists, Retina Specialists and Optometrists, offering diagnosis along with surgical and non-surgical treatment for eye diseases MidWest Eye Center’s Cincinnati, Ohio and Northern Kentucky locations are easily accessible from the surrounding Tri-state area.We are hiring a LEAD OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN for our WESTSIDE clinic.This is a leadership role responsible for assisting MD’s and OD’s by managing clinic flow and overseeing the daily activities of the clinic and clinical staff. Lead Techs are part of the clinical staff and are expected to work with the other Ophthalmic Techs when needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIESDirect clinic flow and oversee clinical activitiesTraining and evaluating all new and existing Ophthalmic TechniciansOversee the preparation of minor proceduresCollaborate with location managers on the doctor’s schedule, patient template and physician’s time off. Confirm accuracy in EMR.Support location based Ophthalmic TechniciansOversee care of patients and do periodical shadowing to ensure consistencyConduct team briefings before and after clinic to deliver important messages and changes in protocolOversee triage protocols and communicate changes as neededServe as liaison for physicians, technicians and administrative staffComplete monthly compliance trainingAssure completion of compliance training by Ophthalmic TechniciansDelegate effectively and tactfully to team members while contributing to a positive work atmosphereUphold and demonstrate commitment to company policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned: job descriptions are not intended to be construed to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with a job.Ensure adherence of opening and closing proceduresOther DutiesEnsure all clinical supplies are orderedComplete monthly inventory reportsAssure regular calibration of equipment is done and documentedAccurate clinical judgementAbility to pay attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentialityAffable and outgoing personality with professional demeanorThe ability to communicate effectively to employees and patientsAbility to make independent, accurate decisions regarding the best use of his/her timeThe ability to seek advice from others when accuracy is uncertain, and findings are inconsistentAn attitude that reflects a desire to go beyond the minimum required dutiesUnderstanding that dependent upon need there may be instances where he/she is asked to travel to one of the other locationsQUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTSBachelor's degree (preferred)Ophthalmic certification or five (5) years of ophthalmic technician experienceClinical supervision experience strongly preferredProven ability to lead and develop a team and drive performance improvement, demonstrated by progressive increases in supervisory responsibilityProven ability to thrive in a highly matrixed environmentAbility to work beyond the normal hours, as needed (including potential weekends)Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communications skills; written and documentation skillsProfessional & reliable demeanor with strong work ethicExcellent time management skills, organizing and prioritizing workload, in order to meet deadlinesAbility to quickly learn new software, new systems, adapt to change and communicate effectivelyIntermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word and ExcelExcellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and externalExercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands where to route inquiries to next level with a strong sense of urgencySelf-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detailMust be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time framesAbility to adapt to frequent priority changesTeam player that develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal and external partners and can effectively engageAbility to build consensus among cross-functional teamsStrong problem solving and negotiation skillsWe offer a competitive benefits package to our employees:MedicalDentalVision401k w/ MatchHSA/FSATelemedicineGenerous PTO PackageWe also offer the following benefits for FREE:Employee Discounts and PerksEmployee Assistance ProgramGroup Life/AD&D Short Term Disability Insurance Long Term Disability Insurance EyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
