Purpose of Your PositionThe primary purpose of this job position is to plan, implement and evaluate nursing service for students attending the ESCS. This individual will work collaboratively with the transdisciplinary team, families and community agencies to create a continuum of health care for each student. Job FunctionsPromotes Elizabeth Seton Children’s Mission and Core Values of Respecting and Embracing Diversity, Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Evolution, Growth and Change and Loving Relationships by bringing these values to life in the organization.Perform nursing assessments and provide treatments and nursing care as requiredMaintain accurate record keeping and IEP/IFSP goal tracking documentation as required by SED/EI and Coleman School policies for quality assurance and accountability purposesRespond to and participate in resolving emergency medical situationsAttend daily clinical status meeting as requiredAttend school trips as requiredComplete daily rounds of each classroom and record and report information as neededAdminister medication as orderedEvaluate and maintain emergency equipmentParticipate in care planning conferences as neededPrepare and conduct staff development on topics related to nursing carePerform other tasks to support the operations of the school as assigned by School AdministrationEducation Requirements:New York State Registered Professional Nurse License; Pediatric Nurse Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is preferredGraduate of an accredited RN program.NYS RN LicenseNYS RN Registration CertificateBachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing preferredCurrent BCLS certificationOne year of nursing experienceTwo years experience working with children; Plus experience working with multiple handicapped and/or medically involved childrenEmployee Requirements:Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluentlyMust meet or exceed all health standards and requirements for the position as established by NYDOH and all other regulatory agenciesMust meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this Center, which includes a medical and physical examinationMust be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of thirty-five (35) poundsPerform tasks that may involve exposure to the resident’s blood/body fluidsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of residents, if necessaryWorking Conditions:Will work in a well-lighted and ventilated areaWill be subject to frequent interruptionsMay be asked to work beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.Annual Salary:$92,088.82/ Year**$6,000 Sign-On Bonus*
