Job Description

We are seeking an Ultrasound Technologist, also referred to as an Ultrasound Tech or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. Ultrasound Technologists will operate ultrasound equipment to produce images of our patients' internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. Your expertise in ultrasound technology, anatomy, and patient care contributes to the delivery of quality healthcare services in our hospital. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.Shift’s Available: VariableEmployment Type: Per Diem (PD/PRN)Hours: VariableLocation: St Mary’s Medical Center - Blue Springs, MOHere are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan401K Sick leave accrualEssential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):Interact with patients to explain the procedure, obtain relevant medical history, and address any concerns, ensure patient comfort and privacy during the ultrasound examination, and assist with positioning patients to optimize imagingOperate ultrasound machines to perform diagnostic imaging studies as requested by physicians or other healthcare providers, select appropriate imaging techniques and settings to capture clear and accurate images of the targeted anatomy or pathologyUse the transducer (probe) to transmit high-frequency sound waves into the body and capture the returning echoes to create real-time images, manipulate the transducer and adjust imaging parameters to obtain multiple views and optimize image qualityInterpret ultrasound images in real-time to assess the structure, size, shape, and function of organs and tissues within the body, identify any abnormalities or pathology that may be present and collaborate with radiologists or physicians to provide accurate diagnostic informationIn addition to conventional diagnostic ultrasound imaging, you may perform Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow patterns and detect abnormalities such as vascular occlusions, stenosis, or thrombosisBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers.
